Great WWII history book!

This is a very interesting book on the German invasion of Russia in 1941. If you're a WWII history buff then this book would be a great addition to your library. Highly recommended!

Time Life Series World War Two, have the completeb set, have a youngh friend that is studying the Russian Front as an extra creddit course. The youngh student had borrowed my volume and returned it the same condition as I had lent it. This showed responcibility. As a gesture of asppreciation I purched a similar valume for the student to keep in his library.

Great touch of suspense!

Truly enjoyed this romance with a heroine who is 40+ and a plus-sized woman!

After barely surviving an abusive marriage, Marcelle is rebuilding a life for her and her autistic, teen daughter. While that would be enough for any woman, the brother of her best friend is interested in her...and he's YOUNGER. I could relate to Marcelle's dilemma because I'm not into younger men, but I think she was way too dramatic. Probably because of her recent past, but dramatic none-the-less. She created problems for herself because of rushed decisions and over analyzing things. She placed much too much value on what OTHER people MIGHT think of her - much too exhausting. She also carried too much guilt from her marriage. Blaming herself for her ex's issues is typical from what I understand about abused women, but when she fought back, SHE FOUGHT BACK! Loved it! Rod, you are the jerk of the world!

Loved Dylan! Most definitely mature beyond his years, his sincerity leaped off the pages! He loved her, he wanted her, but he was not going to be a yo-yo. BUT...he seemed to appear just when she needed him most. That would have sealed the deal for me.

The author's edgy suspense with the stalker was straight out of an old-fashioned whodunit! Just when you think you've got it figured out - SURPRISE! Excellent mis-direction!

At first, I thought the ending was a bit too rushed, but then I considered just how long they'd known each other, and what it took to get them together (FINALLY!), and then I was happy with - and for - them both.

I whole-hardheartedly recommend this sweet love story.

Age Is Just A Number!!!

I was one of the lucky few who received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I must start off by saying I especially loved this book because MJ was an older woman and Dylan was much younger man. MJ moved back home and is starting over after an abusive marriage & messy divorce, boring job and having a child with autism. Dylan is her best friends brother whom she has had feelings for since they were younger. Come to find out Dylan has had feelngs for MJ too back then. She decides to join a gym which she later finds out that Dylan owns. Their feelings for each other surface but MJ has a major problem with the age difference. Dylan sees nothing wrong and continues to pursue MJ. I don' t want to give away too much but I'm glad MJ wised up and got her feelings for Dylan in check. Dylan amazed me by how he dealt with Sadie. The ex husband got what he deserves. This story shows that older women can still pull them young men. It made it more special because they are interracial. Looking for the follow-up story. Great Job Roxy!!

Fun steamy IR read

This is the first book I have read from the author, and will be looking for more. I enjoyed the romance of an older woman and younger man. I enjoy IR and found this to be great and an interesting read. There were several laugh out loud moments. I like that the guy owned his own business, a gym. I also liked that the female lead did not obsess over her looks and deem herself unworthy because she wasn't stick thin. Her issue was the age difference. I will admit to being exasperated, like Dylan. However I am glad that he hung in for the long haul. There was also a history of abuse with MJ, so it made sense with her being skeptical. The daughter's autism was an interesting touch and timely. I have family members with it and it is nice to have this addressed in novels. it added a touch of realism.

Good book for a woodstove like Little House on the Prairie

I bought this book because we have a woodstove for heating the house. I was hoping this book would show me how to cook and bake using it, rather than my electric stove, for times we lose electricity or to save money (no reason to use an electric stove, if my woodstove is already going.) It's geared towards a woodstove with cooking lids, like Ma Ingalls had. It still has recipes that I can use, like for stews or chilis using the Dutch oven or skillet. It has a lot of information about the proper installation, ways to install an oven or a smoker and how to buy a used one at an auction or flea market (what to look for, how to repair it and how to say "no way, I'll pass" on ones that have what looks like a minor flaw, but actually render the stove useless. It also has numerous addresses for replacement parts that you may need to order, if you have something become inoperable on the one you own.) I think it's a good investment if you actually intend to alter recipes to work on a heat-producing woodstove, rather than a cookstove. If you don't want to try the try-and fail method for the heat-producing stove, then pass on the book. Personally, I like it.

I liked the many tips for cooking on a woodstove, I would have liked a few more recipes. I keep it with my cast iron cookware and will be very pleased with the cooking tips if I ever need to cook on our woodstove.

Has some interesting, if somewhat dated, info. Modern stoves and buying processes are somewhat different nowadays. Some interesting recipes to try. Worth a quick read if you really use/ want to use your stove to cook.

Dense as granite, but solidly reliable

This is one of the few books that give actual hard information on the cuisine in China. Since it is not a cookbook, it does not intend to adapt local cookery to a more international audience, but rather documents the cultural and historical significance of larger elements of Chinese cuisine. It also is helpful in identifying the movements and migrations of products throughout Asia, which is quite helpful for serious scholars of Asian cuisines in general.

It's dense as a block of igneous rock, and certainly not for everyone, but definitely a good buy if you take the cuisine seriously.

My only complaint aside from the density is that a good amount of the data is out of date, from the early teens to the late thirties, which misses the PRC's reign almost entirely. It feels like a snapshot in time before the cuisine was heavily damaged by cultural bleaching.

Great Advanced Grammar for Business

This book is good for most ESL learners in the business world. It's always tough to tell whether a book will fit well with a specific learner without actually having them begin to work through it a bit.

This book is well organized and extremely professional looking, which is not always the case with English Language Learning materials. I have found that Professionals who have been in the business world for 6-12 months often already have most of this down; however, they never fail to say that it is a helpful review. I think this book will be most effective for someone who is at an earlier stage in the learning process. It is definitely geared for an advanced learner or high intermediate level learner.

The book is well worth the price, and I would recommend it if your student is not already proficient at the medium to high advanced level in Business idiom and vocabulary. Otherwise, it is a great resource for helping improve ELL Advanced business vocabulary.
